WORK WITH US

In England, data shows that the proportion of people aged 61-70 reporting poor health is much higher for BAME groups. BAME groups also tend to have lower life expectancies than white groups in England and Wales.

It's important that we work with statutory and community services to bridge the gap between older South Asian people and the information, help and support that's out there, helping them to live healthier and more fulfilled lives.

Every month, at our Gal Baat social event, we invite a speaker to tell us about a topic relating to health or wellbeing. We try to find speakers that can communicate in the languages we need or ask our volunteers to act as translators. These talks give our older people the knowledge and tools to take control of their own lives.

If you are a professional with an important message to share, we would love to work with you! Please get in touch with us at saharafou@gmail.com.
